Transition Academy

Transition
Stepping Stones to Independence

Transition Academy began in the fall of 2010 on the campus of the Phoenix School. It is a program for 18-22 year old students who have graduated with a Special Education diploma.

The goal of TA is to provide transition services to young people with disabilities as they progress from an educational setting toward living and working independently in the community. They work on independent living skills, vocational skills, community participation, social skills and behavior skills.

If you are a business that would be interested in being involved with this program, or you are a parent with a student who might be interested, please contact Marlene Holton, Director of Special Education at 484-6135.
